Send tí brøvini avstað innan dagfestingina, sum er nevnd at enda í málinum.
- Skriva á enskum ella á høvuðsmálinum í landinum, tú skrivar til.
- Appelbrøvini skulu vera fólkalig. Tú mást ongantíð brúka politisk slagorð ella jargon. Ikki geva ta fatan, at tú skrivar, tí tú politiskt ella hugsjónarliga er ímóti stjórnini, tú skrivar til. Tað hevur munandi størri ávirkan at undirstrika, at tín áhugi fyri mannarættindum ikki er politiskt grundaður, men er í samsvari við grundleggjandi prinsipp í altjóða rætti.
- Skriva stutt brøv. Tað er ein góð regla, at eitt bræv ikki má verða longri enn eina síðu. Tað er meira sannlíkt at long brøv ikki verða lisin.
- Um tú fært svar uppá nøkur av tínum brøvum, send so svarið beinleiðis til Amnesty skrivstovuna. Vit senda síðani brævið víðari til altjóða skrivstovuna í London. Tað er týdnigarmikið at tú gert hetta skjótast gjørligt, tí tú ert møguliga hin einasti sum hevur fingið svar um málið.

Adressa: Military commander
Dear Sir,
As a citizen of Faroe Islands concerned about continuing reports of violations of the human rights in different parts of the world, I respectfully draw your attention to the case of Mrs. .........., a journalist arrested in the region under your military jurisdiction, who is reported to have been held incommunicado in .......... (place) since her arrest on .......... (date).
It is a well-known fact that the rights of prisoners detained on suspicion of political offences are frequently violated during incommunicado detention when they are particularly vulnerable to ill-treatment. I therefore urge you, on humanitarian grounds, to ensure that this person is treated in accordance with the principles of your natural law and the United Nations Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners. I further request that she be allowed family visits and access to legal councel.
I appeal to you in the name of justice and compassion that this petition for Mrs. .......... will receive your attention.
Yours respectfully,
NN
